Center's warning for Whatsapp users
Apparently, Whatsapp is the most sought after mobile app in India and is equally popular among all ages and groups. But, central security agencies warned that there are 2 very dangerous viruses being shared on this app and will be very lethal if not careful. People are sending these viruses attached to NDA and NIA names. These files are being sent targeting defense and security people mainly along with police personnel.
Being in excel format, this virus if installed in smartphone can send all personal and sensitive data to hackers, especially mobile banking details. They warn that hackers are trying to steal banking details like pins, passwords etc. They warn that this virus can be in MS word and PDF formats along with excel. They request that these messages are coming under the name of famous companies and one should immediately complain to the concerning information technology department if they get any such.
